So you are going to buy some Protein but you are unsure what one to get. You have had a look around but you still have no clue what to buy, hopefully I can help you.

First, here is an example of some of the different proteins.

Whey Protein - The most popular protein and fast acting
Whey Isolate - Protein with very low carbs, fast acting
Miceller casein - A slow digesting protein
Egg protein - A very good source of protein
Soy protein- Another healthy choice

So now what?

First of all, what are you going to be using the protein for?

If you are going to be in the gym and doing weight training or other fitness related activites then once you are finished your body will be needing a fast acting protein to replace lost nutrients. For this you will be needing whey or whey isolate protein. If you are looking for a slow digesting protein to last for a few hours (such as last thing at night) then you would be looking for a miceller casein blend

Are you a vegetarian?

If you are then you will be looking for a soya protein, although not as good as whey it is still good enough to do the job. You can also buy pea protein and some others, although they may be harder to find.

Are you lactose intolerant?

Most proteins now are very low in lactose but some are not, make sure you read the product description properly so you know what you are buying. If not then you can buy special protein blends that are lactose free but these are usually a bit more expensive.

This should provide you with enough information to now buy the correct protein for your needs, if you do have any further questions then you are welcome to come and ask them in our forums.
