Healthy life means have good health which being free from sickness and disease, increase longevity, feel better about yourself with supportive people around and do maintain weight. A healthy lifestyle is ways to achieve this healthy life. Healthy foods contain essential vitamins, minerals, water, protein, fats, carbohydrates and fiber to help us grow and give us energy. Each food intake must be in moderation involves portion control. Like a machine, the human body needs the right fuel to work properly. Healthy food choices fuel our bodies.

Unhealthy food choices contain lots of sugar and fat, making it hard for our bodies to fight diseases and making us overweight.

Remember to balance the foods you eat with exercise. It is necessary to burn off calories to maintain weight. An easy way to uphold these principles is to use the food guide pyramid and dietary guidelines as an outline of what should be eaten each day. Exercise also helps to maintain weight, manage stress, reduce risk of chronic diseases, increase strength and endurance, build bone, and improve your mood!

Smoking is the most important preventable cause of premature death in the United States. Cigarette smokers are two-to-three times more likely to die from coronary heart disease than nonsmokers. It also increases risk of various cancers, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory illnesses.

It is important to manage stress in a healthy lifestyle to avoid consequences. Some ways to reduce stress include increasing physical activity, having an emotional support system, eating sensibly, taking breaks, and getting plenty of sleep to recharge the mind and body. People who have too much stress or who have unhealthy responses to stress may be at greater risk of having coronary heart disease.
